Kristin and Max’s Chicago History Museum Wedding
Kristin and Max were described as an “awesome couple” by their friends and, as expected, their Chicago History Museum wedding was nothing short of awesome as well.
Aglow in amber uplighting, the gorgeous Chicago room at this Chicago History Museum wedding looked even more stunning than usual.
The Chicago History Museum Wedding Celebration
Uplighting works really well for Chicago History Museum weddings. The colors in the Chicago Ballroom are very neutral, making it easy to create any Bride’s vision. Kristin choose a romantic and elegant amber for her lighting during dinner. The lights accented the walls and made the gold, black, white and yellows really pop in her color scheme.
The centerpieces were made up of tall gold vases, holding loose bouquets of yellow and blushing pink flowers. On the tables were gold candles which matched the gold on the couples wedding cake. The room looked absolutely regal!
Every little detail in the room was playful. One of MDM’s favorite details was the Ferris Wheel seating tickets. During cocktail hour the guests were given tickets as escort cards, giving then access to one of the funnest parties of the year.
Pure Fun
After Kristin and Max’s first dance to “A Pirate Looks at Forty” by Jimmy Buffet and sealing it with a kiss, all 192 guests joined the newlyweds out on the dance floor.
As the mood at this Chicago History Museum wedding turned from elegant and romantic to a wild party, the uplighting changed color throughout the room to reflect the more festive atmosphere.
This crowd came to party and party they did!
Knowing Groom Max loved Michael Jackson, MDM wedding DJ David had the most perfect mixes up his sleeve. He played MJ for the Groom, “Blurred Lines” for the Ladies and “Mack the Knife” for the Groom’s Father. Who in turn, needed the microphone to karaoke the whole song. Groom Max then showed his singing skills by belting out “We Didn’t Start The Fire.” This group was so much fun!
“Kristin and I could not have been happier with our event and the excellent work you provided us with not only the music but the lighting as well. I was on cloud 9 that night with all the MJ that was played!” – Max
