Mariah and Austin’s Backyard Wedding
MDM Entertainment has been a part of many weddings in elegant venues all over the Chicagoland area, but this wedding was definitely one to remember. Mariah and Austin brought the elegance and sophistication of an expensive Chicago venue to their own backyard. MDM could not have been more excited to celebrate this young beautiful couple as they started their life together in their family’s backyard.
Elegance on the Lawn
Mariah and Austin’s backyard wedding had every little detail thought through from food and decor, to a jaw dropping swimming pool dance floor. The amazing wedding planners from An Affair To Remember worked closely with the bride and groom to incorporate personal touches and amazing design ideas in order to create their dream wedding.
Let’s start with dinner. The guests were seated at long tables under a bright white tent. MDM helped set the mood with some crystal chandeliers and a blush pink color wash on the tent ceiling. Check out some more tent wedding lighting options available from MDM.
Looking at the tables the first thing that caught your eye were the fun polka dot and pin striped table clothes, followed by all the cute vases and roses. All very Kate Spade!
Another fun detail was the place cards, which reflected Mariah’s work at a library. Everyone’s names were written on cards like the Dewey Decimal System and the tables corresponded to the books on the cards. For example the couples parents sat at the “The Catcher in the Rye” table and the newlyweds sat at the “Romeo and Juliet” table, which by the way had an awesome rose petal table cover.
The Extreme Dance Floor
This dance floor was by far one of the best and most unique dance floors we have ever seen! MDM and the couple’s amazing wedding planner, An Affair To Remember put the dance floor over the in ground pool!
Guests were “oohing” and “awing” the minute they saw it and many commented that they couldn’t wait to get out there dancing. None of them had ever seen anything like it at a wedding before.
When it came time for dancing the family turned on the pool lights, illuminating the dance floor from underneath and MDM turned on the intelligent dance floor lights and hanging twinkle lights, setting the party mood.
For their first dance to “Love Someone” by Jason Mraz, the couple took to the center of the dance floor as their guests gathered around the edge of the pool. After the specialty dances the party kicked into high gear and there was plenty of room for everyone to dance inside, outside and over the pool. Since there was a foot of space between the dance floor and the edge of the pool guests had a blast cooling their feet on the sides of the dance floor and dancing in the shallow end of the pool.
MDM DJ Mike D, had the dance floor packed with great music all night long. The age groups at this wedding were very diverse giving Mike the power to dabble in many different genres of music, creating a full out party for everyone!
Sparkler Send Off
As the party wound down and it was time for Austin and Mariah to depart, their guests lined the driveway to send them off in style. As the newlyweds made their way down the driveway to their waiting classic car their guests waived sparklers in the air and cheered. It started to rain but that didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits in the slightest!
This past summer we have seen “The Sparkler Send Off” becoming very popular and have noticed a few tricks to making it work.
Number one, make sure you get extra long sparklers. Two, have many hands to help light the sparklers with candles and lighters. Finally, bring the fire to the guests. Once the sparklers are passed out, guests seem to flock to fire and trying to lit 6-10 sparklers with one flame can be difficult and dangerous. Make sure everyone spreads out, so when the sparkler does catch, no one is burned with its first burst of fire.
As with everything, An Affair To Remember did a great job with the final touch of the night! Mariah and Austin looked so happy as they ran though the sparklers to get one final wave to their family and friends before heading on their honeymoon!
This night was so much fun and unbelievably beautiful! Congrats Mariah and Austin, you both looked amazing!
