Nicole and Virgil’s Wedding Reception at Alta Villa Banquets
A celebration fit for a King and Queen. Nicole and Virgil’s Alta Villa Banquets wedding, was a wonderful event with a lot of love. MDM helped guests to not only celebrate the new married couple but also their love for the Chicago Blackhawks. Everything at the Alta Villa Banquet felt beautiful and grand.
Walking into Nicole and Virgil’s wedding reception, the first thing that caught your eye was the tall and unique centerpieces. Each centerpiece was a unique bouquet of white flowers and greenery on top of (ready for the kicker?) a cylinder of Limes!! It was the coolest idea with a lot of meaning behind it.
“My family owns a produce company in upstate NY so we want to incorporate a produce theme in to the arrangements,” said Nicole.
It was a ton of limes!! Some were cut open while others were kept whole, it was the neatest thing to see and it matched her white lilies and pink roses perfectly.
The Alta Villa Banquets
“We have been there (Alta Villa Banquets) for a few Italian events with Virg’s family and loved the food!” said Nicole.
Nicole and Virgil’s Alta Villa Banquets wedding reception took place in the elegant grand ballroom. There were bright chandeliers hanging from the high ceilings and shimmering mirrors on the walls to help make the huge room look even bigger. The room was very royal looking and made the Bride and Groom look like a king and queen.
Also made for a king and queen was the plentiful sweets table and ice sculpture with Nicole and Virgil’s names carved into it. Cannoli’s, cream puffs and cookies covered two long tables in the corner. Guests lined up to satisfy their sweet tooth, while gazing into a freezing cold masterpiece.
“It all came with the Hall. I was originally going to nix the ice sculpture, but then I thought, how many people have their names in ice on their wedding day?” said Nicole.
A long marble dance floor presented enough room for everyone to dance under the hall’s disco ball and as the music began all the guests began to shake it.
The most popular song of the night was the Chelsea Dagger!!
The Stanley Cup Champs were in the House
When planning a wedding most people worry about the food, the guests and the weather but how about worrying about the Chicago Blackhawks winning game four against the Kings, in a double over time, with a wrist shot from Patrick Kane, with only 11 more minutes on the clock!!
Nicole and Virgil’s wonderful day fell on the same day as the Blackhawks big game and with a family full of hockey fans it played a big part at their reception.
“At first I was hopping they would sweep LA, but after they lost game three I knew I had to embrace it. (MDM DJ) Nick was cool and agreed to play the Chelsea Dagger when the Hawks scored. Who would’ve thought they would go into double overtime,” said Nicole. “We had a sweetheart table, so we were able to watch the game on my brother-in-laws phone during dinner.”
Not only was the game being played on cell phones but it was also being played on the little office TV. The Alta Villa Banquets’ staff was very nice when the guests crowded around the office, gathering in the doorway and peeking through the service window. It was a great moment to see everyone not only celebrating the love between Nicole and Virgil but also the love between Chicago and their hockey team.
Congrats Nicole and Virgil!!
