Sarah and Flo’s Metropolis Ballroom Wedding
Sarah and Flo’s Metropolis Ballroom wedding was not only dazzling with it’s beautiful color schemes but lots of fun as well . And as any Metropolis Ballroom wedding, executed flawlessly by their wedding coordinator Michael Raymond. The amazing Metropolis Ballroom staff made sure everything ran smoothly while MDM helped to keep the party going on the dance floor.
In the Ballroom
“We knew we wanted a space that incorporated the outside along with being chic and modern. There was no doubt in our minds once we saw the Metropolis Ballroom that it would be a perfect fit for the vibe of our wedding,” said Sarah. “The high ceilings with the exposed rafters and contemporary chandeliers were breathtaking. It really is an amazing space.”
The Metropolis Ballroom held about 150 guests and the staff ran a very tight ship. The wedding was kept on schedule from the minute the Bride and Groom entered the hall to the minute they threw the bouquet. It made the whole night very stress free for everyone, knowing everything was going to happen in a timely fashion.
Another great aspect of The Metropolis Ballroom was the beautiful outdoor view. The floor to ceiling windows opened up during dinner and according to Sarah it was their biggest selling point.
The Metropolis Ballroom also enhanced Sarah and Flo’s color scheme. Flo knew he wanted to wear navy blue on his wedding day so naturally the groomsmen followed suit. Sarah also put her bridesmaids in navy blue knee length dresses, knowing that yellow flowers and yellow pumps would be a great compliment. The couple described their wedding colors as buttercup! The rustic, yet modern yellow flowered centerpieces looked great in the ballroom and matched the bridal party perfectly.
Talk about the photos
The Photo Booth
Photo Booth Express made an appearance at Sarah and Flo’s wedding. The photo booth was placed in the lobby right outside the Ballroom. This gave everyone a chance to step away from the party, try on many different props and enjoy their fun pictures.
The groomsmen were big fans of the photo booth and kept coming back for more.
The Photo Guest Book
Also in the lobby was Sarah and Flo’s photo guest book. The book was made up of the Bride and Grooms engagement pictures. It was an adorable touch.
“We fell in love with our engagement pictures as soon as we seen them so it was important to us to incorporate them in our wedding and pre-wedding events. I found the idea or the guest book on Pintrest and instantly had to make my own book. We used mixbook.com to make the book. Their program is really easy to work with and the pictures came out perfect!”
The pictures were taken by Jennifer Shaffer Photo, who also took their wedding pictures.
Musical differences
“Flo and I have very different music preferences so when it came to picking out the music for the reception, there was a lot of compromising. We ended up creating a playlist for the cocktail hour and dinner with some of the songs we cut from our original list that may not have been the best fit to dance to but we still loved,” said Sarah. “MDM was great to work with on this since I don’t think we were supposed to do this but they were very flexible and accommodating with our requests.”
The music at the reception had an old rock n’ roll feel mixed in with Albanian music requested by Flo. Sarah and Flo wanted to stick to the original versions of songs so they danced to classics such as “Can’t Help Falling In Love,” by Elvis Presley and “Landslide” by Fleetwood Mac.
Everyone had a blast dancing to the Albanian music. Whether the guests knew the dance or not, everyone was invited to join a big circle around the dance floor. The person at the end of the circle led the four step dance while waving a clothe in one hand. Many times the Bride and Groom were caught dancing in the middle of the circle. It was a great tradition.
The whole night was full of love, music and beautiful colors. Congratulations Sarah and Flo!!
