Terese and William’s Cantigny Park Wedding
The serenity of nature and exciting music blended together to create an amazing Cantigny Park wedding for Terese and William. MDM Entertainment DJ Robert had so much fun lighting up the dance floor and sharing in this couples big day.
Bringing The Outdoors In
The beautiful and majestic Cantigny Park is a 500-acre park where families go to enjoy nature and history. From an award-winning golf course to rustic camp grounds, Cantigny Park really lets you become one with nature, which is exactly the theme Terese and William were going for at their wedding.
Being a 2013 “The Knot’s Best of Weddings” pick, Cantigny Park creates an atmosphere of serenity that caters to the couples every need. The floor to ceiling wrap around windows put you face to face with the rolling meadows and forest surrounding the banquet room. The rustic wooden dance floor and the grand fire place added to the calming essence of the nature outside.
“Our theme and colors were inspired by autumn and nature. Our colors were chocolate brown and orange. We wanted to bring the outdoors in with our natural centerpieces,” said Terese.
Made with twigs and golden orange and white flowers, the couple’s centerpieces add tons to the room. The orange popped amidst the greenery that shown through the windows and the chocolate brown that laid on the floor and the tables.
As favors and for dessert, guests were given personalized bags of caramel pop corn, along with chocolate covered strawberries. Both delicious gifts were a thank you for the guest’s kind and entertaining words on the couples signature glider bench.
“We wanted something that would be useful to us for our entire lives, not just a book that would sit on a shelf. Now we have our families messages visible, and get a good laugh out of most of them,” said Terese.
Instead of an average guest book, Terese found the idea of a signature bench on Pinterest. As we all know Pinterest has some of the best wedding ideas and this bench is definitely at the top of the list for great finds.
Bring on The Party
Terese and William opened the dance floor with a heart felt first dance to “Lucky” by Jason Mraz. The couple smiled at each other as they realize they not only had a great night ahead of them but also I great life together.
The special moments just kept on coming with the bouquet toss to “She’s A Lady” by Tom Jones and the garter toss to “Girls” by the Beastie Boys. The best moment was the choreographed dance the Bride and all of her sisters surprised the Groom with. The girls danced to “Play That Funky Music” by Wild Cherry with some sweet dance moves!
“Our inspiration came from my side of the family. My cousins had done something similar and my sister Mary wanted to surprise William with a dance. So with the two of us coming up with unique and cheesy dance moves, we brought William’s sisters (Ashley and Jessica) into the dance. The 4 of us: William’s new bride, and ALL of his sisters wanted to do something fun and surprising for William. We danced to Wild Cherry’s “Play that Funky Music”. It was a lot of fun, and William was really surprised,” said Terese.
Even the Mother of the Bride and the Mother of the Groom got in on the fun with personalized Goblets. It was so cute to see the two Mothers with a keep sake of their own to remember the party by.
“That would be the Mother of the Bride, Kathleen. She had one at my brother’s wedding in 2008, and needed one again for my wedding. She got herself one and the Mother of the Groom, Claudia one. Claudia had them personalized and etched at her place of work,” said Terese.
The only time anyone left the dance floor was to take pictures in the photo booth, which everyone loved. Terese and William offered many different props to take pictures with including a “#1 Guest” Trophy and countless hats and sun glasses. It was great to see people capturing these fun moments.
As for the dance floor, MDM DJ Robert kept the beat going from everyone’s head to their feet. The best part was seeing everyone scream when their favorite song came on. The was an awesome night!
“As for purchases we loved everything from our cake to our guest signature glider bench. All of our vendors were wonderful and would recommend them to friends and family. The whole day went by so quickly. The first look at the beginning of the day was very memorable. It was just the two of us for a moment. It was the beginning of a great day, and even better night,” said Terese.
MDM Entertainment had an amazing time lighting up Terese and William’s dance floor at their Cantigny Park wedding. MDM wishes the couple the absolute best and thanks them for inviting us to their celebration.
