Vendor Spotlight on Visions Wedding Boutique
Every little girl has thought about how Ken would propose to Barbie and what Barbie would look like on her wedding day. Would he propose on the beach? Would they get married in a castle? Moment’s like these are what girls dream about and Visions Wedding Boutique helps to make these dreams come true from when he pops the question, to when they say “I Do.”
MDM Entertainment has had the pleasure of working with Jenee Allan, the leading wedding stylist and planner at Visions. She and her team of planners have created many gorgeous moments for couples. Visions Wedding Boutique is a Chicago wedding planning service, but the sister company, Visions On Bended Knee, is a proposal planning service to assist people when popping the question to their loved one.
As a young girl Jenee Allan use to attend weddings with her father, a wedding photographer, and fell in love with the beauty of each celebration. Her love for weddings followed her through her adult life at The Turnip Rose, a catering company in Southern California. After having a family of her own, she used the skills she learned over the years to start Visions Wedding Boutique and Visions on Bended Knee, three years ago.
On the Vision’s website Jenee states “My job is a privilege; my work is my passion.” Jenee says she simply loves weddings.
First Comes The Proposal
“You get engaged and girls say ‘Oh my God, let me see the ring’ and then they ask, ‘how did he do it?’ and girls don’t want to just say ‘o just on the couch or over dinner.’ Those can be cute but most girls want more,” said Jenee.
When Jenee started her company she wondered where she could find brides. Knowing that brides come out of proposals, Jenee soon noticed a need in the proposal planning process. Most men need help planning the perfect proposal.
Jenee found her clients by connecting with local jewelers and offering a complimentary consultation with the purchase of an engagement ring. Soon business was booming and Jenee has gained the attention of NBC 5 News and the Today Show. The idea of a great proposal is trending now, especially on Youtube, and everyone wants the best for their loved one.
“It’s not about spending money its about putting in the effort to show she is everything to you,” said Visions owner Jenee.
Planning the Wedding and Beyond
“The Brides become more like my friends then my clients. Chicago’s busy brides, with full time careers, don’t have searching time. So the wedding searching is left up to me,” said Jenee.
The Vision’s team offers many different services. There is a full service, where a planner helps you from beginning to end or a partial service. During the partial service a planner can help in three ways. 1) A planner can step in after the big decisions, like the hall and themes, have been decided. 2) A planner can take over responsibilities the month before the wedding so the bride can relax. 3) Finally a planner can run the show the day of so the bride and groom can focus on celebrating.
Vision’s also offers Chicago-land venue tours. Jenee said looking for a venue can be intimidating and the best thing to do is take baby steps. After a questionnaire Visions can give you your top five venue matches. They can also accompany you during the venue tours and contract reviews. Any thing to make the bride feel more at ease.
“I’m here to help with it all. One bride, I planned her proposal, her bachelorette scavenger hunt and her wedding. Some brides I am even planning their baby showers. We have all become really good friends. I love what I do,” said Jenee.
